Potential proposals mean big changes

There are proposals being discussed to bring vote centers to California - with legislative announcements that could be coming soon. Our joint CACEO/SOS Voting Opportunities committee is working hard to review data prior to CACEO's Board of Directors' meeting on May 27th.

Same Sex Marriage Licenses

The Supreme Court heard oral arguments earlier this month regarding same sex marriage licenses and recognition of those licenses in different states. A ruling is expected in late June, which County Clerks are tracking.

Working Closely on Rapidly Moving Targets

There are exciting (but quickly evolving) changes that could be coming to California elections. CACEO's Voting Opportunities Committee took on new meaning recently as these possibilities might morph into reality. Volunteers from this committee are looking closely at drop boxes, potential Election Code changes, vote center formulas, etc. CACEO leadership will be actively engaging with policy makers as these concepts move forward.
